Jer joined Grant Thornton in 2018 and brings considerable Aircraft Leasing industry expertise and experience to the Aviation Advisory team.
He has been exclusively working on advisory engagements in the aviation sector. His clients include several of the Top 10 lessors, national and international carriers as well as a number of mid-sized lessors and asset management companies.
Sector Experience
Jer has managed and led a variety of engagements including:
- Project lead for a number of Maintenance Reserve and Contract Management Data Quality review engagements for a number of clients including the entire fleet for a Top 10 Aircraft Lessor. This resulted in developing a comprehensive understanding for the opaque areas of maintenance reserves through exposure to a wide number of varied lease contracts.· Seconded to a Top 10 lessor as a Contract Asset Manager providing experience on Contract Management System (CMS).
- Managed the SOx internal audit review for a Top 10 lessor with responsibilities including developing business process notes and risk control matrix, testing the design and implementation and operating effectiveness of key controls along with providing a detailed gap analysis and control recommendations.
- Jer has been involved in overseeing best practice modelling practices on pricing platforms.
- Project lead during a major data migration project that involved the migration over 1000 leases from an accounts receivable and revenue perspective for a Top 3 Aircraft Lessor.

Workshop Stream
Welcome to this year’s Ishka – Grant Thornton Academy - a half day series of masterclasses alongside the annual Ishka Aviation Finance Festival delivered by experts in their field from Grant Thornton.
Ishka continues to raise awareness of the aviation industry and asset class and through interactive educational events we aim to equip new entrants to the market with the tools necessary for a better understanding of the leasing world. For those needing a refresher, the masterclasses will provide the most up-to-date thinking on the three main topics to be covered and we are delighted to be teaming up with Grant Thornton, who will share their technical knowledge and real-life experiences.
Each topic will have a 45 minute session followed by a short refreshment break:
- Data Migration - This will look at the various approaches to navigate complex migration projects. These moves have been catalysed by a trend within the leasing community to move off legacy systems. This talk will detail the challenges associated with these projects and how there are opportunities to introducing efficiencies to minimise the burden on the business.
- Aviation Lease Services - This interactive section will give the industry a greater insight into the Aviation Lease Services offering which currently manages over 1,000 leases. The workshop will focus on the processes and structures in place and how the solution enables the business to focus on the “value-add” core aspects of their business.
- Technical Discussions: Issues in Lease Management - The final class will delve into the technical hurdles lessors face with technical data in contract management systems. During this session we will explore some common issues and solutions we have proposed and implemented. We will also explore best practices in relation to technical document management.
