Welcome to this year’s Ishka – Grant Thornton Academy - a half day series of masterclasses alongside the annual Ishka Aviation Finance Festival delivered by experts in their field from Grant Thornton.

Ishka continues to raise awareness of the aviation industry and asset class and through interactive educational events we aim to equip new entrants to the market with the tools necessary for a better understanding of the leasing world. For those needing a refresher, the masterclasses will provide the most up-to-date thinking on the three main topics to be covered and we are delighted to be teaming up with Grant Thornton, who will share their technical knowledge and real-life experiences.

Each topic will have a 45 minute session followed by a short refreshment break: 

  • Data Migration - This will look at the various approaches to navigate complex migration projects. These moves have been catalysed by a trend within the leasing community to move off legacy systems. This talk will detail the challenges associated with these projects and how there are opportunities to introducing efficiencies to minimise the burden on the business.
  • Aviation Lease Services - This interactive section will give the industry a greater insight into the Aviation Lease Services offering which currently manages over 1,000 leases. The workshop will focus on the processes and structures in place and how the solution enables the business to focus on the “value-add” core aspects of their business.
  • Technical Discussions: Issues in Lease Management - The final class will delve into the technical hurdles lessors face with technical data in contract management systems. During this session we will explore some common issues and solutions we have proposed and implemented. We will also explore best practices in relation to technical document management.
